Njalakangwa Phumaphi is an E-Services Deputy Manager in the Government Online Office under the Ministry of Communication, Knowledge, and Technology for the Government of Botswana. Ms. Phumaphi is in charge of the technical organisation of the e-Services and is involved in the implementation of the public sector e-services across government in line with the SmartBots Digital Transformation Strategy. In her role she is responsible for the implementation of e-Services that are citizen centric, and caters for all citizens and ensures no one is left behind across the economy. Ms Phumaphi has over 16-year experience in managing the delivery of innovative solutions. She holds a Degree in Information Systems and a Masters in Strategic Management.
The discussion will focus on the preconditions, needs and challenges in developing human-centric and effective digital public services in Africa. The session aims to share practical experiences, good practices and lessons learnt based on real-life examples of developing digital public services in different African countries. This session is organised by the AU-EU D4D Hub, an EU funded project that supports African institutions to create an enabling environment for an inclusive digital transformation.
